    Joseph Pennell's Union Square and Bank of Metropolis is an original etchng depicting one of New York's many architectural buildings. This original impression was etched by the American printmaker and painter, Joseph Pennell in It is printed upon fine Japon paper and with full margins as published in New York in the sole edition of seventy-five signed impressions.   PENNELL, JOSEPH (), American artist and author, was born in Philadelphia on the 4th of July , and first studied there, but like his compatriot and friend, J. M. Whistler, he afterwards went to Europe and made his home in London. He produced numerous books (many of them in collaboration with his wife, Elizabeth Robins Pennell), but his chief distinction .
